man James R Burnham‏
Born ‎4 Oct 1823 North Carolina, died ‎1877 Kentucky‎, 53 or 54 years
There was a Sarah Delia "Burnam" that was born on July 14, 1857 in Trigg County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of James R. Burnam and his wife Sarah J. Holley. He was a bricklayer and a farmer in Trigg County, KY. James R. Burnam was a son of Wilson Burnam (b. 1799, Camden Co., NC) and his wife Elizabeth Gambrell or Gambell. Elizabeth was born 1810 in North Carolina. Wilson and Elizabeth were married on February 21, 1827 in Perquimans Co., NC. Sarah (Holley) Burnam was born c1828 in Kentucky. This Sarah Delia Burnam looks about the age to have been your ancestor. I do not have any further back on Wilson Burnam. He had a brother Isaac that also moved to Trigg Co., Ky. I have not determined who their parents were, but am looking for a connection back in North Carolina. This information is from various census and marriage records, the International Geneaological Index and there was a published biography on this James R. Burnam. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Hank Burnham
======================
J. R. BURNAM was born in North Carolina, October 4, 1823, and is a son of Wilson and Elizabeth (Gambrel) Burnam, both natives of North Carolina and of English descent, respectively. Wilson Burnam emigrated to Kentucky about the year 1830, and settled in Trigg County; he was a carpenter, and worked at his trade in connection with farming until his death in 1877. J. R. Burnam was educated in Trigg County and remained with his parents until 1850, when he was married to Sarah J. Holly, a native of Kentucky; to them were born two sons and one daughter. Mrs. Burnam died some seventeen years ago, and Mr. B. next married Lucy Hyden, a native of Tennessee. Two children bless this union-one son and one daughter. Mr. Burnam is by trade a bricklayer, and follows this business in connection with farming. He is a member of the 1. 0. 0. F. at Rock Castle, also of the Blue Lodge, A. F. & A. M. at Parkersville, Ky., and is one of the leading men of the precinct and county.
