A funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, in the Dairy Creek Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hillsboro for Ronald "Lucky" Bottema Jr., who died Dec. 22, 2008, of a heart attack at age 49.

Ronald Bottema Jr. was born Nov. 22, 1959, in San Gabriel, Calif., and moved to Hillsboro in 1960. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and was a route driver to American Linen for 27 years. He was a lifetime member of the ward and served a mission to the Philippines. In 1981, he married Brenda Clark.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Malonda and Rochelle; parents, Janeal and Ronald; and sisters, Roneal Sweet and Donal Smith.
