Timothy, Dell, John and Joseph served overseas. George served at Camp Lewis in Washington State. The eldest Sullivan son, Michael, and the youngest, James Roy, ended up not having to fight in the war. Timothy and Dell suffered the most serious consequences from their service. Timothy suffered from post-traumatic stress and had to live in a hospital. Dell's health never recovered and he suffered from tuberculosis. Both of them were dead by 1931.
